Frequently Asked Questions for Loom Legacy Admins regarding Teamwork Collection
Loom's legacy customers operate independently from Atlassian systems. These accounts were likely created before October 2024 or were purchased through Loom’s legacy site on Loom.com.
There are other key differences between accounts on Loom systems and accounts on Atlassian systems:
-
Accounts that are managed by Atlassian have access to integrations with Atlassian’s system of work (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
-
Role types and limits:
- Loom legacy: Supports free Creator Lite roles on paid plans, View only roles on some Enterprise plans, and a limit of 50 users on the Starter free plan.
- Atlassian: Creator Lite roles are not available, and Starter free plans are limited to a maximum of 10 users.
-
Annual subscriptions are also billed differently:
- Loom legacy: Loom.com annual subscriptions are charged by the distinct number of paid users on your plan, billed annually.
- Atlassian: Atlassian.com annual subscriptions are based on distinct user tiers. You will be billed for the tier most closely matching your user count.
We will migrate all legacy Loom accounts to Atlassian systems and customers will be notified about when migration will occur and what it will mean for their account.
Yes, users can be a part of of a legacy and an Atlassian-managed workspace. By default, the Atlassian managed workspace will be set as the default workspace and all new videos will be recorded into that workspace. To move between Workspaces, users can switch the toggle in the Workspace-switcher in the top left of your Workspace.
In order for a Loom account to be a member of an Atlassian-managed workspace, they need to “merge” their account into Atlassian systems. Once a Loom account is merged, Atlassian is the source of truth for login, profile information and workspace access. If you are having trouble logging into your new account, please reach out to our Support team.
Each individual user can migrate their personal content by following the steps here.
Note: you will only be able to migrate content you own. You won't be able to migrate content for the entire Workspace in bulk. If there are specific videos that you did not create yourself but need to be moved over to your new workspace, you can download and upload those videos.
If an account is permanently deleted, all videos that user recorded into that workspace will be deleted within a reasonable period of time. Transcripts, and view counts data will also be deleted. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
We may retain some information such as support tickets you submitted during your time using Loom, backups for up to 30 days, or de-identified data.
