Quick fixes for common recording errors

This is a great place to start your troubleshooting!๐Ÿ”ง

There are a few things that tend to fix most common problems.ย  Here's a quick checklist we suggest you run through if you're having issues.

Chrome Extensionย 

  1. Restart your Chrome browser & device
    This will often fix any temporary silliness.ย 

  2. Reset your Loom Extension
    By removing and re-installing it.
    Here's how:

    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Right-click on the Loom extension icon and then selectย Remove.ย 
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ย Restart your Chrome browser
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Then reinstall it using thisย link here.


  3. Update your Chrome Browser
    Make sure your browser is up-to-date. This will help aid Loom's compatibility.

    ๐Ÿ‘‰ You can check this atย chrome://settings/help

  4. Clear your Chrome cache
    It might sound obvious, but it's helped us a number of times!

    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Open Chrome and enter the following URL in a new tab:ย chrome://history/
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Select 'Clear Browsing Data'

Once you've done all this, please make sure you relaunch your Chrome browser and try to record once again. ๐Ÿคž

Desktop App ๐Ÿ–ฅ

  1. Restart your device
    This will clear any bad states.ย 
  2. Check for updates.ย 
    Here's how:
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Open the Loom app
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Click the '...' app menu in the top right
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Select 'Check for Updates'

  3. Re-install your Loom App
    Here's how:
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ย Delete or uninstall your current Loom App (drag to the trash icon)
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Restart your device
    ๐Ÿ‘‰ Download the most recent app version here.ย Ensure you're opening the most up to date version.
