Microphone issues on Mac - How to enable your privacy settings for Loom

If you're using a Mac device and are unable to record with your in-built microphone, we suggest making sure Loom is enabled in your Security & Privacy settings. ✔️

Question

The Loom app is not recognizing my in-built microphone on my Mac device. How can I solve this?

Solution

Here's how to enable Loom from within your Security & Privacy settings:

1. Open your System Preferences.

2. Open your Security & Privacy settings. 

3. Navigate to the Privacy tab, and make sure Loom is checked under Microphone, Accessibility & Screen recording module. 

4. You'll also need to make sure the Chrome browser is also enabled.
   

   
   👉  Keep in mind if it's greyed out, you'll need to click the lock icon 🔒 to make changes.
