To uninstall the Loom Desktop App you can follow these steps:
Option 1: Uninstall Loom
- Open your Start menu.
- Click Control panel and select Programs and Features.
- Navigate to where you see Loom.
- Click Loom then select the Uninstall button that appears.
Option 2: Manually uninstall Loom
If you're still having trouble, this can indicate there is a previous version of Loom stuck in the device registry, you'll need to manually uninstall Loom to fix this. 👇
- Open your Control Panel, select Programs and Features.
- In this list, find any instances of Loom, and select Uninstall.
- Then in your navigator field, paste the below locations and check if any Loom folders exist, if so delete these folders. Try all three paths:
Installation path:%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Programs\Loom\
Logs and settings:%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Loom
Loom updater:%userprofile%\appdata\local\loom-updater\ - Then open your start navigation, search Registry Editor, and open this editor. Paste the below delete key into your Registry Editor pathfinder.
Delete key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{3643b966-bc28-5bc8-95ff-3d47d66438db} - Restart your device.
- And now all instances of Loom should be removed from your device.
Option 1: Uninstall Loom
- On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock, then click Applications.
- Find Loom, then drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash (at the end of your Dock).
- If you are still experiencing performance issues (recording slowness, glitches, ect.) please follow steps in Option 3 below.
Option 2: Manually uninstall Loom
If you're still having trouble, this can indicate there is a previous version of Loom stuck in the device registry, you'll need to manually uninstall Loom to fix this. 👇 - Open your Terminal app. You can find this by searching Terminal in your spotlight search bar.
- Paste in the below commands (it will ask for your password, please enter this to complete the uninstall).
sudo rm -rif /Applications/Loom.app
sudo rm -rif /Users/$USER/Library/Application Support/Loom
sudo rm -rif /Users/$USER/Library/Logs/Loom - And now all instances of Loom should be removed from your device.
Option 3: Manually delete configuration files
If you are experiencing recording performance issues such as slowness initiating a recording, or lags using other recording components you may still have Loom configuration files that are disrupting your recording experience. Please try the steps below to resolve this.- Download this tool , this tool will delete old loom files that are lingering on your device.
- Then Quit the Desktop App (if you have already re-installed).
- On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the Dock, then click Applications.
- Drag the Loom app from your Applications into the App cleaner.
- The App cleaner will list files and folders associated with the desktop app. Select all files and folders listed and hit Remove.
