Why aren't my screenshots shortcuts working?
Screenshot shortcuts are exclusively available when using the Loom Desktop App.
Loom offers the ability to override your macOS shortcuts allowing you to streamline your workflow and ensure you never miss capturing an important moment.
- Open System Settings on your Mac and navigate to Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Go to Screenshots.
- Uncheck all existing shortcut options to disable macOS default screenshot functionality.
- Launch the Loom Desktop App and click on the three-dot menu (...) in the bottom right corner.
- Go to Settings and then select Preferences.
- Assign ⌘ Shift 3 and ⌘ Shift 4 (macOS default screenshot shortcuts) as your shortcuts for Loom Desktop screenshots.
Once set up, these shortcuts will allow you to take screenshots seamlessly with Loom!
⚠️ To use this functionality, ensure the Loom Desktop App is open and actively running in the background. If the app is closed, the screenshot shortcuts will not function.
Why isn't my screenshot unfurling?
Loom allows you to paste a screenshot link into various applications like Slack or Confluence, where the link will automatically expand into a preview for easy viewing.
If your screenshot isn't expanding as expected, check the privacy settings. For the screenshot to unfurl properly, it must be set to "Anyone can view." You can update the privacy settings directly on the screenshot page by adjusting the visibility option to ensure it meets this requirement.
What happens if my Screenshot fails to upload?
If your Screenshot has been stuck uploading as seen in the image below, we unfortunately will not be able to recover the Screenshot. To avoid mishaps like this, we suggest the following:
- Make sure you're on the most up-to-date version of our Loom app/or Chrome extension.
- Make sure you're connected to a strong and stable connection (at least 5mbps upload speed), check here: www.speedtest.net.
