Recording š¹
Up to you! Keep in mind that your company may have policies around what meetings you should/should not record, so we recommend making sure you are familiar with your companyās policies!
Youāll see the Loom Notetaker join your call! While the Loom Notetaker is in your meeting, it is being recorded.
You can just tell them during the meeting! But the Loom Notetaker will also announce its arrival and intent to record in the Zoom, Google, or Teams chat.
Yes! You can record any meeting on your calendar that has a Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams video call link attached to it. The meeting host can still stop recording at any time by removing the Loom Notetaker from the meeting.
Any participant in the meeting can send one of the commands listed below for Zoom, Google Meet and Team meetings:
- /stop: Stop recording and remove bot from the meeting
- /pause: Pause recording
- /resume: Resume recording
- /delete: Delete's the recording and removes the bot from the meeting
- /help: Display this help message with the list of commands
- /info: Display information about this meeting
You can disconnect your calendar at any time by clicking the āļø button in the top-right of the MeetingsĀ page. Disconnecting your calendar means you will no longer be able to use the Loom Meeting Recording functionality.
The Meeting Organizer can download Meeting Recordings. If you would like a downloaded version of the recording, but are not the organizer yourself, you should contact the meeting organizer to request the download from them. This only applies to meetings that were recorded automatically (by being toggled on in your Meetings list). Meetings recorded using the "Record a meeting" button cannot be downloaded.
If your meeting platform (Zoom, Google Meets or Teams) has any settings enabled restricting who can join your meetings, this may cause Loom Notetaker to be unable to join and record your meeting. We recommend ensuring that Loom Notetaker is allowed through any such restrictions that might be in place!
This could also be caused by the meeting host not allowing the Loom Notetaker into the meeting when it attempted to join.
For example Zoom has a setting "requires authentication to join". The Loom Notetaker won't be able to authenticate as this means that meeting participants and webinar attendees will need to authenticate prior to joining a session.
Meeting Recording Settings š
All meeting recording settings can be accessed from the "Recording Settings" button from the Meetings page.
By default, internal meetings will be set to auto-record, but you can turn this off at any time on your MeetingsĀ page, where you can also choose to enable auto-record for external meetings.
More info about automatic recording and external/internal meetings here.
By default, the person recording the meeting will be the Owner of the recording and any internal invitees on the calendar event who are members of your Loom workspace will be granted access to the recording. However, you can select who the recording will be shared with on your Meetings page. In addition to this you can also choose your default sharing preferences in your Personal Setting under the Meeting Recording tab. Learn more here.
By default, email recaps will be sent to internal invitees - those whose email domain matches the Workspaceās. You can update this setting from your MeetingsĀ page.
If you expected to receive a recap for a meeting, and didn't, it's possible that the AI setting "Auto summary" is disabled. Check and toggle this setting by taking the following steps:
- First, go to any Loom on your account.
- In the right-hand panel, click the "Settings" tab
- At the bottom, click "Set defaults..."
- Make sure that "Auto Summary" is toggled ON
Available FeaturesĀ āļø
Using both the Zoom integration and the Meeting Recording features will result in two separate recordings being created. We recommend turning off the Zoom integration when you integrate your calendar via the native Meeting Recording functionality.
If using Breakout Rooms, Loom Notetaker can be sent to any breakout room you choose, like any other participant, and will record that room. However, Loom Notetaker cannot record all breakout rooms in the meeting at once.
Loom is releasing key Rewatch functionality in the Meeting Recording, but will not have feature parity with Rewatch. Let us know what Rewatch features you want to see in Loom by contacting us!
Unfortunately no - the quality is set at 720p to preserve memory and CPU resources.
Meeting Recording is available on all subscription levels. However, you will need a Loom plan that includes AI (Business + AI or Enterprise) in order to use AI-related features such as meeting recaps.
