Recording 📹

Should I record all my meetings?

Up to you! Keep in mind that your company may have policies around what meetings you should/should not record, so we recommend making sure you are familiar with your company’s policies!

How will I know the meeting is being recorded?

You’ll see the Loom Notetaker join your call! While the Loom Notetaker is in your meeting, it is being recorded.

How do I notify people that I’m recording?

You can just tell them during the meeting! But the Loom Notetaker will also announce its arrival and intent to record in the Zoom, Google, or Teams chat.

Where can I find my meeting recordings?

By default, recordings are saved into your Library, but from there they can be organized into a Folder or Space as desired.

Can I record meetings I don’t own or organize?

Yes! You can record any meeting on your calendar that has a Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams video call link attached to it. The meeting host can still stop recording at any time by removing the Loom Notetaker from the meeting.

How do I stop the recording?

If you’re the host of the meeting, you can stop the Loom Notetaker from recording by removing it from the meeting.

Steps per Meeting Platform:
- In Zoom, click the three dots on the Loom Notetaker participant and then click Remove.
- In Google Meets, hover on Loom Notetaker’s tile and click More options > Remove from the call.
- In Teams, click the Participants icon to see the attendees > right-click Loom Notetaker and choose Remove from the drop-down menu.

How do I disconnect my Calendar?

You can disconnect your calendar at any time by clicking the ⚙️ button in the top-right of the Calendar page. Disconnecting your calendar means you will no longer be able to use the Loom Meeting Recording functionality.

Why didn't Loom Notetaker join my meeting?

If your meeting platform (Zoom, Google Meets, Teams) has any settings enabled restricting who can join your meetings, this may cause Loom Notetaker to be unable to join and record your meeting. We recommend ensuring that Loom Notetaker is allowed through any such restrictions that might be in place!

This could also be caused by the meeting host not allowing the Loom Notetaker into the meeting when it attempted to join.

Meeting Recording Settings 🔐

Will all my meetings be automatically recorded?

By default, internal meetings will be set to auto-record, but you can turn this off at any time on your Calendar page, where you can also choose to enable auto-record for external meetings.

More info about automatic recording and external/internal meetings here.

Who will have access to my meeting recording?

By default, the person recording the meeting will be the Owner of the recording and any invitees on the calendar event who are members of your Loom workspace will be granted access to the recording. However, you can select who the recording will be shared with on your Calendar page. Learn more here.

Who will receive email recaps?

By default, email recaps will be sent to internal invitees - those whose email domain matches the Workspace’s. You can update this setting from your Calendar Page.

Available Features ⚙️

Can I use Meeting Recording plus the Zoom integration?

Using both the Zoom integration and the Meeting Recording beta features will result in two separate recordings being created. We recommend turning off the Zoom integration when you integrate your calendar via the native Meeting Recording functionality.

Is all Rewatch functionality available in Loom?

Loom is releasing key Rewatch functionality in the Meeting Recording beta, but will not have feature parity with Rewatch. Let us know what Rewatch features you want to see in Loom by contacting us!.

What Loom subscription do I need to use Meeting Recording features?

Meeting Recording is available on all subscription levels. However, you will need a Loom plan that includes AI (Business + AI or Enterprise) in order to use AI-related features such as meeting recaps.
