⚠️ Please Note: This article is only relevant to those who are apart of the Confluence Loom Beta. More information here.
Issue:
You have taken the action described below and are experiencing issues accessing previously recorded videos:
-
-
Created Loom account through Confluence.
-
Then changed Atlassian/Confluence email login credentials to an email that already exist with a Loom account.
-
Example
Alice has recently created a Loom account via Confluence with the email alice.williams@acme.com.Alice also has an account in Loom separate from Confluence with the email alice.blair@acme.com.
Alice changes her email in Atlassian/Confluence from alice.williams@acme.com to alice.blair@acme.com. This is an issue because Loom does not have the capability to accommodate two separate accounts with the same email addresses.
To address this issue, Loom will modify the email of her existing Loom account from alice.blair@acme.com to alice.blair+2024-06-02@acme.com (based on the date of the adjustment) to prevent any conflicts arising from duplicate email accounts.
Solution:
If you have taking the steps above, Loom will not be able to accommodate two separate accounts with the same email addresses.
That being said, Loom will automatically modify the email of your pre-existing email to prevent any conflicts arising from duplicate email accounts. Your email will be modified with the date of the email change, example: alice.blair+2024-06-02@acme.com. If this happens you will receive an email informing you of this change and you will need to set an password for login here. Once logged in you can update the alias email address and change it to your preferred email in your Personal Settings page.
Keep in mind:
You will not be able to revert the email to the previous one since this is an email that currently exists in Loom with another associated account.
