Easily track who viewed your video. đ„Â
When a viewer is not logged into Loom, the video view remains anonymous. Using one of the following methods, you can identify viewers who do not have a Loom account or are simply not logged in:Â
đAdd query parameters to your video URLÂ
Please note these features are currently in Beta and only available to users on an Enterprise plan.Â
Request email to view(Beta)
You can easily track who viewed your video by requesting a viewer to submit their email. You can force your viewers to do one of the following:Â
-
Require email: Viewers will be forced to provide a valid email address before watching.Â
-
Ask for email: Viewers will receive a pop-up to add their email before watching but have the option to bypass it.Â
-
No email: Viewers will not need to provide any information to view
Here's how to request an email from viewers:Â
- First, set your video privacy setting to 'Anyone with a link can view'.
-
Then from your video share page, click on the Edit tab from your video side panel and then Settings.
-
Navigate to the Audience tab. From here, you can use the dropdown from Request email to view to choose one of the following: Require email, Ask for email, or No email.
Add query parameters to your video URL (Beta)
You can add the query parameter anon_email to the URL of any video to de-anonymize a specific viewer via their email address. If a video is being shared with a specific viewer, the view and engagement can be associated with that viewer's email address automatically through the use of anon_email URL query parameters.
Here's how:
-
First, set your video privacy setting to âAnyone with the link can viewâ.
- Then copy the video URL.
-
Add the intended viewers to the end of the URL path with:
đ ?anon_email=example@domain.com
Example of Full URL:
đ https://www.loom.com/share/Test-0e3718864c7a81a722?anon_email=sally@test.com
If there is already another parameter in your URL then the anon_email should be added with an & like so:
đhttps://www.loom.com/share/Test-adda22?sid=71339c77&anon_email=sally@test.com
When an anonymous viewer opens the link, the view will be associated with the email provided in the URL.
Note
-
If you added email query parameters and you have Ask for email or Require Email turned ON the anonymous user will NOT be presented to provide an email (the anon_email provided in the URL removes the need for the gate).Â
-
If the viewer is logged in to Loom the view will be associated with their Loom account (not the anon_email provided in the URL).Â
Â
Using query parameters with engagement toolsÂ
If you are crafting an email template for a sequence in a tool like Outreach or Salesloft, the anon_email query parameter can be used with an Outreach variable to associate a view with any possible recipient.Â
