How to track your recording time

Keep an eye on the time to track how long you've been recording. ⏰

While users on our Starter plan have a 5-minute recording limit, if you're on a Loom Business, Business+ AI or Enterprise plan, you have unlimited time - but that doesn't mean you should always use it. 🙂 Trying to stay concise? Use the recording timer feature to track your time and maximize engagement.

Chrome Extension

  1. In your Chrome extension, you'll need to make sure Show Recording Time is toggled on. You can do this by opening your extension Settings:

  2. Start recording! As you record, you'll see the timer count up from 0, so you can track your time. Please note that the timer will be visible to anyone who watches the video.

Desktop App

⚠️ In order to view the recording time in the Desktop app, you'll need to entirely enable the control menu.

  1. In your Desktop App, you'll need to make sure Hide recording controls is toggled off. You can do this by opening your app Settings and going to the Enhance tab:

  2. Start recording! As you record, you'll see the timer count up from 0, so you can track your time. Please note that the timer will be visible to anyone who watches the video.
