New Loom for Education plan

The Loom you know and love just got better. ๐Ÿ™Œ

What's new for education?

Weโ€™re excited to introduce a new dedicated plan for verified teachers and students. Loom for Education is 100% free and includes all the existing features on Loom Pro and more.

No action is required on your end.

Starting October 6th, 2020, all verified education users on Loom Pro will be automatically migrated to the new Loom for Education plan.

How will I know I have been migrated?

Once you have been migrated, you'll see this pop-up:

You will also notice on the Plan & Billing page the name of your plan change to Loom for Education.

What new features are on Loom for Education?

You get all the same features you had on Loom Pro plus the ones below, all free:

  • Collaborative Workspace: You can invite an unlimited number of free Viewers to join your Workspace and browse videos organized in your new Shared and Team Libraries. Learn more.
  • Screenshots (beta): You can now take instantly shareable images of your screen with Loom. Screenshots live in their own section in your Workspace. Learn more.

Are there any limits on Loom for Education?

To continue to offer Loom to verified students and teachers for free, we have introduced the following limits on Loom for Education:

  1. Record videos up to 45 minutes in length. This new limit does not apply to existing recordings and is currently waived in response to COVID-19.
  2. One Creator per Workspace. You can have unlimited Viewer accounts in your Workspace, but are limited to a single Creator account.

Youโ€™ll continue to get unlimited video recordings for free.

Can I continue to use Loom while I wait to be migrated?

Yes! Rest assured you can continue using Loom without interruption during this time.

What happens to my content?

All your existing recordings will be transferred to the Personal Library in your new Workspace.

Can I go back to Loom Pro?

As of October 14th, 2020 Loom Pro is no longer available. All new and existing verified education users will be given access to Loom for Education, which includes more features than were available on Loom Pro.

I am new to Loom, how do I get the plan?

Start by signing up for a Loom Starter plan and then request verification of your education status here. While we verify your account, you'll be in a 14-day trial of Loom Business. Once your Business trial runs out and you start your Loom Education account, please note that any Creator accounts you add to your Workspace in your Business trial will be downgraded to Viewers, except for your Workspace Admin.
