How to record in High Definition (HD)

Record crystal clear videos in Full HD (available on Loom Business and Enterprise). ✨

If your device allows it, your desktop app recordings can be captured in Full HD, 1080p (1920x1080px) and up to 4K recording which roughly translates to 3840x 2160 pixels.

To successfully record in HD, your device will need to meet our system requirements, teamed with a fast speed internet connection and HD screen and camera.

Windows 8.1+ (64-bit)

  • Intel Pentium 4 processor or later that's SSE2 capable
  • 512 MB of RAM (at least 4GB recommended)

Mac OSX 10.10+ (64-bit only)

  • 512 MB of RAM (at least 4GB recommended)

To set 4k as your Default Recording Quality, follow these steps:

  1. Click the three-dot menu '...' and select Preferences.
  2. Choose your Default quality from the drop-down. This way your app will record in this resolution each time you're ready to record. As shown below, you can always adjust the recording quality before starting a recording if you want a different quality from your default.

Please note

HD recording is only available when recording with the Loom desktop app. If you're using the Chrome extension this feature will not be present, you can record up to 720p.
